What gets measured gets done.

What can be measured can be managed.

What can be managed can accomplish results.

Schools are not short of KPIs. Key question is “how to identify the relevant critical few that drive desired behaviours towards student outcomes and objectives?”. Good KPIs enable the school to validate and make meaningful assessment of its strategy.

Schools are also not unfamiliar with KPI. This advanced workshop deepens participants’ competencies by addressing the hard and challenging question of “How to identify the relevant critical few KPI in Schools”. With multiple hands-on exercises on real-life KPI identification and development, participants will acquire and be able to apply these skills and knowledge to their Schools.

Participants will learn to identify both lead and lag KPIs and select the appropriate measurement including but not limited to numbers, index, ratio, band/category, comparison, and complex formula with Boolean conditions.  KPI detailing necessary for a consistent School data dictionary will be learned so that data can be gathered and collated for assessment, review and reports. Examples of context specific KPI for teaching and learning, social emotional development, staff competencies and school innovation will be discussed. Participants will also learn to examine assumptions, limitations and possible unintended behaviours resulting from inappropriate KPI. Setting appropriate target for KPIs is of strategic relevance for communication and effective implementation. It is beyond the filling of incremental numbers year on year. These angst and intricacies of target setting, often left unanswered will also be discussed and addressed.
